String Sounds educates school-age children about many aspects of the performing arts, through performances and workshops supported by teacher preparation and follow-up materials. Organized by four former Phoenix Symphony Orchestra musicians, String Sounds has performed at Valley elementary schools since 1976.

We are delighted to offer two outstanding programs
for the upcoming 2011/2012 school year:

“From Bully to Buddy” is a music / dance / drama using four professional dancers, a string quartet, an optional school “chorus” and a storytelling prologue to each scene.

“Books & Music II” is a quartet-only program featuring four children’s books with a storytelling segment, a string quartet excerpt and a prop to make the storytelling more fun. At the conclusion of the preset program, each child will be invited to try being a musician by playing one of the child-size violins we will provide. (for grades K-1) Learn more…
